Who do you believe in?

Who do you believe in? Many people are asked this question everyday, when they look in the mirror or into the eyes of their loved ones.
While walking today i was asked this very same question by someone representing a college church fund. With the reply i gave to them they were shocked to the very core. To the point where they were unable to comment about anything. At that moment i inadvertently asked them the very same question.
"I don't really know who i believe in, though if i did have a definitive answer i would ask that person why they would allow a burning body to swell under the smoldering sun to the point it would burst if kicked?"
For every person and every people there is a religion. Something to place your faith into. But when they herd my reply I don't think they were prepared for something of that magnitude; Something that reveals the realities of life.  Some people see this everyday as a part of there environment.
So who do you believe in? Is it someone that you confide in and does that someone or something make you feel so comfortable to the point you have no problem knowing that they would allow this to happened if they controlled everything in its existence?

I think we all kind of try to find a set of beliefs that we are able to submit to. That don't really challenge us too much. That bring us a sense of importance and significance.

Really being aware of what you believe in is unknown to most. Including me. Sometimes I believe in God. Sometimes I don't. Sometimes I believe in an afterlife. Sometimes I don't. It's really all about convenience. Which is a SAD truth.

You question: "... would allow this to happened if they (god or a high power) controlled everything in its existence?"

God allows the power of free will, I believe. Meaning people determine and bring forth their own actions. God's heart morns, just like ours does, when actions like these are played out.

I believe that when you turn your focus on the beautiful things this world has to offer and has already given you- You realize that it is selfish to think you have given yourself all that you have and am embodied in.

It's god that has blessed me with this beautiful world I am surrounded by. He paints those sunsets I see every night, gives me the greatest moments with my friends and family and is the one that brought you home to me safe and sound.

He answered my prayers (that i left him every night) because he realized that I could never go on if you didn't come back.

My question is-How can you see such a thing and not look at God and thank him for coming home safe and sound?
